Coming in 2011
EcoStation is proud to announce that it will form a part of Freight Week 2011.
The Victorian Transport Association (VTA) and the Victorian Automobile Chamber of Commerce (VACC) combined some years ago to jointly present the Freight event every two years. Originally a week-long conference and exhibition, it has grown to a year-long series of events. Freight 2011 will run from October 2010 through to Freight Week during the 5th to the 9th September 2011.
Freight has adopted five key themes of:
- People
- Technology
- Environment
- Safety
- Freight Agenda
Each theme is pursued through the year both as briefings for the freight sector but also hands on sessions and development of agendas and ideas for presentation at Freight Week.
A particular feature of Freight 2011 will be the running of the Sandown safety and productivity day on the 3rd and 4th March. This hands-on event was run during Freight 2009 and was hugely successful with the opportunity to drive or be driven in a range of vehicles and trucks with leading edge safety features.
Victoria leads the nation in terms of strategy development and transport thinking. It has been Australia's transport and logistics hub for over 100 years. To stay in that position requires plenty of vision and clear thinking. Freight 2011 will play its part in helping to deliver some of that vision and thinking.
