Who can take part?
EcoStation invites involvement from all areas of the freight industry. The program seeks to move beyond the efficiency of the truck itself, and aims at improving the efficiency of the entire supply chain. In this regard, EcoStation encourages everyone from the suppliers of the goods being transported, to the end users of the goods to get involved in the process of reducing the fuel and emissions involved in freight.

There are three main types of EcoStation participants:
- Freight Customers, are the key to the EcoStation program. They are the ones engaging the freight operator to move their products and so have the power to demand that their products are shipped in the most environmentally and fuel efficient way possible. Through EcoStation, they have the opportunity to push their operators in the direction of greater efficiency, and share in the cost savings that the program delivers. Additionally, Freight Customers will have access to the performance data of their supply chains and can promote their environmental gains to the broader community.
- Freight Operators, have great potential to improve the way they do business by involving themselves in the EcoStation program. They will have access to case studies, fleet and truck efficiency improvement tools, and expert technical support to enable them to make the best business and environmental decisions. As well as improving their truck and fleet performance, they have the opportunity to network with EcoStation participating freight customers and improve their business outlook.
- Associates, such as the manufacturers of trucks and trailers, the suppliers of fuels and oils, providers of technical assistance and research to the freight industry can gain from EcoStation involvement. Associates of EcoStation have an opportunity to promote their products and services among participating companies.
As the demand for more fuel efficient freight equipment increases, the suppliers of good, verified equipment will grow. EcoStation provides the link between freight operators looking to improve their efficiency, and the suppliers of the equipment.
